DIY Party Banners!

Once I made one banner, I knew I had to make more! These are probably my favorite party decoration! They are SOO easy to make and can be made custom to any party or theme.

With a little photoshop and some cutting you can easily make all the pieces..then there are dozens of ways to attach them! Just string them up however you would like. No photoshop? What about cutting out images found on google (Fav cartoon characters?) or even your child's photos! And of course you could always just draw up your own letters...or even let the kids decorate!

All that work for one party? Nope! Store it away from later birthdays, hang it in your child's room...OR staple them all together and make a photobook out of them! Just paste pictures from the party on each back!

When it comes to parties I am usually making just about everything so I try to keep them sweet and simple. But here are a few I've done recently.

If you don't want to mess with making the images..how about purchasing a printable banner?? Here's a great circus party banner available in this shop by GwynnWassonDesigns. She has some great party printables available!

Or how about a free printable banner! I found this awesome site that allows you to print birhtday banners for free! You can even print letter by letter to add your child's name!

I hope this has inspired you to make a fun party banner!

How to make {Carrot Treat Cones}
Aren't these adorable?! The perfect treat for Easter parties or easter baskets!

I was trying to think of something a little different to make to hand out this easter...I originally started with just an orange treat cone but wasn't happy with the finished product. A few trys later and I came up with little little guys! I really like them....and you can make them too! Here's how:

Here are the supplies you will need. Orange paper, green paper, scissors, a glue gun (or double sided tape), ribbon, and a cone template. I always use HWTM's template for my cones. 1. Print and cut template.

2. Trace onto orange paper, and cut. (To save you some time you can also print directly onto the orange paper if you have 8.5x11 paper )

3. Cut a strip of green paper 9inx4in.

4. Cut strips 1/4in apart along green paper leaving about a half inch at the bottom This will give you the "grass" effect.

5. Roll the orange cutouts into cones, either use double sided tap or hot glue the seam.

6. Either line the cone with double sided tape OR hot glue. If your working with hot glue...glue in in 3 sections so you can adhere the green nicely without the glue getting hard.

7. Glue/tape on the green paper adhering the uncut half inch to the edge of the inside of the cone.

8. Fill with treats (I'm using goldfish crackers!)

9. Tie a bow and enjoy!

So cute!..The kids will love these :)
You can hand these out alone of make them part of a treat bag. I had planned on making little felt bunny bags this year when what do you know I found at Target in the dollar section!? They are so cute and for that price making them would be just silly ;=

What is better then an easter egg hunt? Having something cute to wear to it of course! Just wanted to share an adorable easter project I did a few years ago.I made these bibs for my oldest when she was 15 months old. I started with a used pair of Old Navy bibs ($2.00!) and a small stack of fabric, and ironed on a doublesided iron on adhesive. I cut out most of the pieces using my cricut however you do not need a cricut they can be done by hand. After the pieces were arranged and ironed on I sewed around them. Most of it had to be hand sewn. Then I added the ruffles, bunny tail, bows ect. Luckily Cadence's aunt was in town, so I had some extra craft hands on this one! It's a time consuming project but SO worth it in the end! Miley and Bailey are not yet walking, but I will for sure be making them a pair when they are! How cute would a little fall pair with pumpkins be!! If you try this out be sure to send me pics! Happy crafting :)
awww...these pics take me back! Love her!

Play Dough Fun!

How cute are these little guys! Ever made play dough with the kids? Most of us have but if you haven't...you need to! I love to make play dough with the kids. We normally have the items around the house, it's great for a rainy day. When you add a cute little container you've got a great little gift or party favor! I made the monkeys for the twin's first birthday and I just knew I had to make some easter ones for the girls baskets! So glad I did :)

I like to use this kool-aid reciepe:

1cup flour

1/2 cup salt

1 kool-aid package

1 cup boiling water

2 tsp cream of tarter (optional)

Mix everything but the water in a bowl. Stir in one cup of boiling water and knead. Let cool. Store in either ziplocks or small containers. The little baby food containers work great!!

I found the little chicks and carrots at my local Dollar Tree 3/$1.00. If you don't have one around Target has the same ones 2/$2.50. More basket fillers to come!
